Kilimanjaro Checklist

Climbing Kilimanjaro is a tough task. Once you started climbing, then you don’t have an option for any gaffe. We need to know about some really useful gears and create a checklist for visitors.

  • Clothing- Mt Kilimanjaro has four climate zones. Weather can change from warm and tropical at the base of the mountain to freezing on the summit. To make your body suitable in every weather, perfect clothes are responsible. Cotton garments should be avoided as it is hydrophilic. Moisture struggles to pass through and therefore the wicking process stops. Go for trekking shirts, trekking trousers, insulation layer, core jacket, hard shell rain gear, etc.
  • Headgear- You can go with some mandatory headgear accessories that you need to take on your Kilimanjaro climb. So, these are hat with neck cover, beanie or headband, neck warmer, headlamp, sunglasses, etc.
  • Hands & Walking- climbing Kilimanjaro is difficult without a perfect pair of gloves. You can go for inner and outer gloves, which gives you comfort. Then some other gears like –trekking poles, waterproof gloves are needed.
  • Footwear- Right show directs you towards your destination. You should focus on two pairs. That should be fit, quality, and as per your comfort. Risk of feet and back injuries is very high ta mountains, so you ought to buy your boots according to your preference. You can prefer Fugitive & Stynger trekking boots, leather hiking boots, trekking socks, Thermal socks, gaiters.
  • Bags- Most of the climbers prefer a duffel bag rather than a daypack. It contains, more space and comfortable to carry. Choose your bag according to your gears and basics.
  • Sleeping- sleeping bag is the most essential gear. This can be your way to survive on Kilimanjaro Mountain. It prevents you from cold and other glitches. We suggest to buy a quality sleeping bag is necessary.

After everything, you can add some of your essential gears or device to your checklist. But that should be light in weight.
