Trekking & Hiking

Kilimanjaro has different routes, so climbing depends on factors of the chosen route, but we always advise our clients to choose a trek which will give them enough time to acclimate. Most routes begin at around 1,600-2,000 meters above sea level (5,200-6,500 feet) and then climb in increments of 800-1,200 meters (2,600-3,900 feet) a day in elevation. The chances of reaching the summit depend on the number of days you take. For example; if you take 5 days the chance of reaching the summit is lower than 8 to 10 days. Routes range from about 32 miles to 45 miles. Total elevation gain to the top is about 1,215 m, or 4,000 ft, but it depends on the route. Physical fitness is a pre-requisite.
